2008-2009 Board
The following people make up the current Board.
- Teresa Meyer, President
Teresa Meyer is an Assistant Editor at an occupational and career education publishing company. She has volunteered with many service organizations, but is especially drawn to Rotaract because of its focus on humanitarian service and building goodwill and peace in the world. When she’s not at Rotaract events, she enjoys walking along the lake in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.
- Julie Maxwell, Vice President
Julie Maxwell has been a resident of the Chicagoland area her whole life and comes to Rotaract with an interest in social justice and connecting communities to each other through shared values. She concurrently works at a non-profit where she does intake and scheduling of the executive director and holds the position of Director of Youth Ministries at a church in the burbs. In her abundance of spare time she loves to read, watch films, photograph life and maintain a running commentary in her head on all the bizarre things that happen in life but no one seems to stop and notice. In the near future, she hopes to study and analyze the intersection of culture and religion in young people’s lives.
- Nick Schrock, Treasurer
- Krin Thompson, Secretary
Krin moved to Chicago after graduating from University of Michigan in 2006. She is employed at a healthcare credentialing non-profit organization and works on meeting planning and special projects. Krin discovered Rotaract while browsing a friend’s Facebook and was excited to find out that Rotaract is a community service organization related to Rotary. She had been involved in community service through National Honor Society (NHS) in high school, and was also the NHS secretary during her senior year. Krin has previous ties with Rotary because her hometown club had supported her financially for a student ambassador trip to Australia and New Zealand. Her hometown Rotary also sent her to a weekend leadership camp while in high school. Krin is looking forward to a great year with Rotaract!
